Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat collapsed after a successful check-in at Delhi’s IGI airport on Saturday morning. The wrestler is returning to his hometown after an impressive performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics. A huge crowd gathered at the Delhi airport to welcome Vinesh back home. He met fellow wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia and felt emotional when he met them. She got into the car, flopped down on the sunroof after the reception and wiped her eyes as the cameras caught her getting emotional.

He was welcomed with garlands at the airport. After winning Vinesh, wrestlers Bajrang and Sakshi also spoke to the media. “The community is giving him a lot of love and you can see how the community is responding to him,” Bajrang told the media.
Vinesh Phogat breaks down
“What Vinesh has done for the country, few people do. He deserves more respect and appreciation,” Sakshi said about the wrestler. Sakshi’s husband Satyawart Kadian, who is also a wrestler, was wondering why Vinesh was fighting in the 50kg category and not 53kg. “Vinesh is, if he will continue to be a soldier. He is a champion for us, we spare no effort to welcome him as a champion. We treat him like a gold medalist. He competed in the 53 kg category, why did he compete in the 50 kg category? It’s a big question why he moved to the 50kg category,” he said at the airport. Congress legislator Deepender Hooda said, “People are happy for him (Vinesh Phogat) and the whole country is proud of his daughter.
The wrestler will visit his hometown Charkhi Dadri in Haryana where he will be welcomed by his family and relatives.
Vinesh recently announced his retirement from wrestling, but shared an open letter on Friday, hinting at a possible return to the sport. He said he could have played the game until 2032 under different circumstances, but he could not predict what would happen in the future.
