Death Threat Sent to Mumbai Police
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been issued a fresh death threat. The threat was received by the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline early on Monday morning. It threatened that an individual will enter his home and blow a bomb in his car. Officials have taken the threat seriously and lodged a complaint. Investigations are ongoing.
Several Threats in Recent Years
This is the fifth time in the last two years Salman Khan has been threatened. During a previous attack, gunshots were fired outside his residence. The attackers were connected with the Bishnoi gang. Security was increased after the incident.
Gang Connection and History
Police had also uncovered a plan to assassinate him at his farmhouse in Panvel. The alleged plan was linked to shooters connected to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Bishnoi holds a long-standing grudge against Salman Khan. This stems from a blackbuck poaching case in the 1990s. Though the court cleared Khan, Bishnoi insists he should apologize in Rajasthan. The blackbuck is a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community.
Salman Khan’s Security Increased
Salman Khan has been given Y+ category security because of repeated threats. This security consists of a police escort and trained officers with him at public gatherings.
Actor Continues His Film Career
Despite these issues, Salman Khan is still active in the movie industry. He was last seen in the film Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie, which came out during Eid, has raked in more than ₹200 crore globally, though collections have begun to fall.
Police Investigations Continue
The Mumbai Police are tracking the source of the latest threat message. The actor’s safety is still a priority as the authorities continue their investigation.
