Rishabh Pant Signs Off IPL 2025 with an Unbeaten 118, but RCB Clinch the Win
Rishabh Pant finished his IPL 2025 campaign in style with an incredible unbeaten 118 off just 61 balls, leading Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their final league match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Despite Pant’s valiant knock, RCB chased down the massive target of 227/3, winning the high-scoring encounter by six wickets. This victory secured RCB’s second-place finish in the IPL 2025 points table.
Pant’s performance in this match was a highlight of his otherwise inconsistent season. His blistering innings, which included 11 fours and 8 sixes, gave LSG a crucial lift. However, the team’s overall inconsistency resulted in them finishing seventh in the standings, with six wins from 14 matches.
Reflecting on the season, Pant shared an emotional message with fans on social media: “A season of ups and downs. There are tons of learnings to take back home.” Despite his struggles throughout the tournament, Pant ended the season with 269 runs at an average of 24.45, including one fifty and his final-match hundred.
Pant, who was bought by LSG for ₹27 crore, acknowledged that the season had its challenges. “You’ve got to play 40 overs of good cricket. Twenty overs will not save you in a T20 game, and that’s been our story. Injuries before the tournament also played a big part in our struggles,” Pant shared during his chat with broadcasters.
After the season’s conclusion, Pant confirmed he would take a short break before rejoining Team India for the upcoming five-match Test series against England. “I’ll switch off from cricket for a few days before focusing on my next assignment,” he added.
