“Bayern are very dangerous. They were at their best and we weren’t. We have time to improve for Wednesday,” Ancelotti claimed.
Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, is trying to figure out how to motivate his players to perform better so they can defeat Bayern Munich on Wednesday and advance to the Champions League final.
Following last week’s 2-2 semi-final first leg stalemate in Bavaria, the Italian acknowledged that Real was not at their best every time, even if they did managed to secure a respectable result with the German powerhouses mostly in the lead.
At the Allianz Arena, after Vinicius Junior’s brace had given Madrid a draw, Ancelotti told reporters, “Bayern are very dangerous, they were at their best and we weren’t — we have time to improve for Wednesday.”
Madrid entered the game fresh off their 3-0 La Liga victory against Cadiz on Saturday, but they had postponed their celebrations in order to focus on the second leg of the Champions League.
The players of Los Blancos did not join supporters in Plaza Cibeles, where they typically had parties after winning major championships, when they reported for training on Sunday morning.
Champions League champions 14 times in a row Real Madrid, on the other hand, was intent on expanding their dominance in Europe.
“We would like to celebrate with all the fans, but they understand because on Wednesday we have a very important challenge,” Ancelotti remarked.
We’re about to play the biggest game of the season, so it’s restrained excitement.”
Captain of Real Madrid Nacho Fernandez concurred with his teacher.
“We’re on the verge of reaching another final, we’re going to give our all to get there — that’s why we can’t celebrate too much,” he explained.
Real Madrid wants to win both the La Liga and the Champions League five times.
With 12 titles won at Real Madrid, Ancelotti is on the verge of overtaking Miguel Munoz, the club’s all-time leader with 14 titles earned between 1960 and 1972.
Bayern’s wingers, Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala, gave Real Madrid a lot of trouble in the first leg. Ancelotti needs to find a method to contain them if Bayern is to go to the final at Wembley.
In an attempt to restrain Musiala, Dani Carvajal, who was suspended, will return to the right-back position. Jude Bellingham and other players may need to go back to assist Ferland Mendy in order to halt former Manchester City player Sane.
When discussing the team’s progress this season, Ancelotti reminded his teammates, “It was important when we began to defend with collective commitment.”
“The big effort was made by the forwards, rather than the defenders — injuries helped us understand that it wasn’t about individuals but a team effort.”
The players for Ancelotti will be eager to get to the final because he only started Nacho against Cadiz from the lineup he used in Munich.
Harry Kane, the prolific scorer for Bayern Munich, was mostly kept quiet by Madrid, but when Vazquez mishandled to felled Musiala, the England international scored from the spot.
Additionally, Eduardo Camavinga might be brought in by the coach to inject some energy and sabotage that Bayern had build-up, preventing them from pinning Madrid back like they did in Munich.
Madrid can always rely on the “magic” of the Santiago Bernabeu if Ancelotti’s preparations fall short.
Players are keen to point out the stadium’s aura and magic, and their incredible run of home comebacks to get to the 2022 Champions League final is still vivid in their memories.
Following Bayern’s draw, Vinicius declared, “It’s time to have a magical night at the Bernabeu—the kind that ‘Madridistas’ have enjoyed so many times before.”
