The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed its Men’s Test Team of the Year 2024 on Friday, showcasing the best performers in the longest format of the game. The squad includes three Indian stars: premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, versatile all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and rising opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Australia’s Test captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins was named the skipper of the squad, standing as the only Australian representative in the lineup.
The team also features four English players, two from New Zealand—including the legendary Kane Williamson—and one from Sri Lanka.
Standout Performances
Jasprit Bumrah, who was named the Player of the Series during India’s recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) triumph in Australia, claimed a remarkable 32 wickets across five Tests. His fiery bowling played a crucial role in India’s success.
Emerging opener Yashasvi Jaiswal topped the scoring charts for India during the series, amassing 391 runs, including a memorable century and two half-centuries.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also made significant contributions; moreover, he scored 135 runs and picked up four key wickets in the BGT.
