Sonu Sood Heartbroken Over IPL 2025 Bengaluru Stampede, Dedicates Award to Unsung Heroes
Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood expressed his sorrow after a tragic stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru left at least 11 people dead and over 50 injured. The tragic event unfolded as thousands of fans gathered to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) historic win in the IPL 2025 Final against Punjab Kings, marking RCB’s first-ever IPL title in the league’s 18-year history.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sonu Sood wrote:
“Heartbroken by the tragedy during the IPL celebrations in Bangalore. No celebration is worth a life. Prayers for the families and all those affected.”
On June 4, the Karnataka Government confirmed the incident and announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh for the families of the deceased. A magisterial probe has also been ordered to investigate the cause of the incident.
Sonu Sood Receives Miss World Humanitarian Award
Known for his impactful humanitarian work. Sonu Sood was recently honored with the Miss World Humanitarian Award. He dedicated the award to the unsung heroes of India – including mothers, struggling students, and hardworking migrants.
“This award belongs to every mother who prayed for a bus to take her child home, every student who couldn’t afford education but never gave up dreaming, and every migrant who walked miles yet never lost faith,” Sonu captioned while sharing photos of the event.
The award was presented to him by actor Rana Daggubatti, recognizing his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.
Sonu Sood’s Latest Movie – Fateh
On the professional front, Sonu Sood was recently seen in his action-thriller “Fateh”, which he also wrote and directed. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
“Fateh” follows the story of a former agent who returns from a peaceful life to dismantle a dangerous cybercrime syndicate after a young girl falls victim and goes missing.
