Miss World 2025 Indian Contestant: From the farmlands of Kota to the global Miss World stage, Nandini Gupta’s journey is a powerful tale of ambition, resilience, and quiet pride.
While Kota, Rajasthan is famously known as India’s coaching capital for engineers and doctors. A different kind of dream is taking root in its soil. Nandini Gupta, a 23-year-old woman from this vibrant city, is now representing India at the 72nd Miss World pageant, currently being held in Hyderabad.
What makes Nandini’s journey stand out isn’t glamour or privilege—but resilience, purpose, and deep-rooted values. Born into a modest farming family, she has always embraced her humble beginnings. Her father, Sumit Gupta, is a hardworking farmer, while her mother, Rekha Gupta, supports the family through organic farming initiatives.
“My childhood was grounded in love, simplicity, and strength. I grew up with my younger sister and uncle in a home where values were more important than looks,” Nandini shared in an interview with Rediff.
One memory continues to shape her perspective even today. “Whenever someone would ask my mother if we had a brother, she would say, ‘Nahi, yehi mere do Anmol Ratan hai’,” recalls Nandini with pride. “Since then, I’ve always strived to be her ‘ratan’—her jewel—so that she feels proud of me.”

That spirit carried her from the lanes of Kota to the spotlight of Miss India 2023, where she claimed the crown. But her victory didn’t come without resistance. Convincing her parents to let her move to Mumbai and chase her dream wasn’t easy. Like many Indian families, theirs came with conditions—education first, dreams second. Nandini honored both.
Now, she’s standing tall on a global platform—not just as a model of beauty. But as a symbol of ambition, humility, and tradition. For Nandini, the Miss World stage isn’t just about a crown; it’s about fulfilling a promise to her parents, honoring her roots, and inspiring young women across India to dream bigger.
As she walks the global runway, she carries with her not just the hopes of a family, but the dreams of a nation.
