Royal Challengers Bengaluru achieved a remarkable feat in their final league stage match of IPL 2025, successfully chasing down a daunting target of 228 runs set by Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium. This victory not only secured RCB’s place in the top two on the points table but also made them the first team in IPL history to win every away game in a single season.
Asked to bowl first, RCB found themselves under pressure as Rishabh Pant played an explosive innings, scoring his second IPL century. Pant reached his hundred off just 54 balls, making it the fastest century ever by an LSG batter. This was Pant’s first IPL century since his memorable 128* against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018.
In response, RCB got off to a strong start with a 61-run opening partnership. Virat Kohli contributed a fluent 54, setting the stage for the chase. The key moment came in the 17th over, when Digvesh Rathi Mankaded Jitesh Sharma, who was out of his crease. However, LSG captain Rishabh Pant showed sportsmanship by withdrawing the appeal, allowing Sharma to continue his innings.
