‘Chhaava’: A Grand Historical Epic
Chhaava is a historical action film based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Adapted from the Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant, the movie brings history to life with an ensemble cast featuring Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai.
Receives Love from Critics and Audiences
The film has been met with widespread love and appreciation from audiences and critics alike.
ETimes reviewed Chhaava, stating:
“Director Laxman Utekar crafts a historical epic on a grand canvas, delivering a larger-than-life experience. The film opens with promise and a powerful slow-motion entry but struggles in the first half with an engaging narrative beyond reverence. It feels like a montage of action sequences and songs, lacking tension or a sense of discovery. However, A.R. Rahman’s music and background score elevate the experience, driving the story forward.”
With its strong start and positive word-of-mouth, Chhaava is set to make a lasting mark at the box office.
