Devajit Saikia has been appointed as the new BCCI secretary, replacing Jay Shah, while Prabhtej Singh Bhatia has been elected as the BCCI treasurer. Additionally, Shukla announced that discussions for the Champions Trophy squads will take place between January 18 and 19, and the venues for the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be revealed soon.

The BCCI meeting also included a review of India’s recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy performance, where the team suffered a 1-3 series defeat in Australia, followed by a 0-3 home series loss to New Zealand. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir were present during the discussions.
“There was a detailed review of what went wrong and the corrections needed. However, no hurried decisions are expected from the new BCCI leadership,” a source within the board told PTI.
