‘Pushpa 2’ Becomes Fastest Indian Film to Cross ₹1,000 Crore Worldwide

Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to dominate the global box office, breaking records and setting new benchmarks. Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, the film achieved an unprecedented milestone by crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide within just six days of release.

Box Office Phenomenon

The film opened with a massive ₹294 crore worldwide and has maintained its stellar performance. On day 6, trade analyst Idlebrain Jeevi confirmed that Pushpa 2: The Rule shattered records, grossing ₹1,000 crore globally.

A post from the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Pushpa retweeted the announcement, stating:
“₹1,000 crores worldwide gross accomplished by #Pushpa2 in just 6 days! Another all-time record!!”

For perspective, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion previously held the record as the fastest Indian film to reach ₹1,000 crore in 10 days. Other blockbusters like RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, and Kalki 2898 AD took 16 days to achieve the milestone, while Jawan and Pathaan required 18 and 27 days, respectively.

According to Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2: The Rule has amassed approximately ₹645.95 crore net in India alone.

Plot and Characters

Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, a red sandalwood smuggler who outsmarts the authorities at every turn. Fahadh Faasil plays Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, a determined police officer vowing to bring Pushpa to justice. The sequel picks up from where the 2021 film, Pushpa: The Rise, concluded, delving deeper into the intense rivalry between Pushpa and Shekawat.

Controversy Surrounding the Film

Amid its roaring success, Pushpa 2 has also faced backlash. According to ANI, Rajput leader Raj Shekhawat threatened the filmmakers over what he described as an insult to the Kshatriya community.

In a video posted on X, he criticized the usage of the word “Shekawat” in the film, claiming it portrays the community in a negative light. Shekhawat warned the makers to remove the reference, stating:
“The movie has gravely insulted Kshatriyas. The Shekhawat community has been shown in a poor light. If the word is not removed, the Karni Sena will take strict action, including confronting the filmmakers directly.”

Despite the controversy, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to rewrite the record books, solidifying its place as one of the most successful Indian films of all time.
